This tutorial provides information on best practices for in-person sales using the Point-of-Sale page.
Any device that can load the All-Star Rec Manager website can be used for in-person sales, such as a desktop or laptop computer, or tablet. It is not recommended to use a phone due to the small screen size. You may also need a printer onsite depending on whether you want to be able to print receipts for customers. Additional information about printing receipts is below.
You can receive cash sales in-person using a cash box or bag of your choosing. There is not currently a way to connect a cash drawer to All-Star Rec Manager to trigger it opening once a sale is complete.
To process credit and debit card transactions in person, you will need to connect a Square account to All-Star Rec Manager. Click here to learn how to connect your Square account, purchase a Square terminal, and pair it with your account.
If processing credit/debit card transactions, you can print receipts on the Square Terminal. To toggle this preference, navigate to the Preferences page and open the Store tab. Open the General Preferences section and toggle the switch for Show Receipt Screen on Terminal.
To manually print a sales receipt, from the Point-of-Sale page, use the Quick Links menu to open the Orders table. Check the box next to the order and click the Create Receipt icon below the table. If you plan to offer the ability to print receipts, you will want to have a printer onsite that can prints 8.5"x11" pages.
You can also send the receipt to the customer if the customer has an email address connected to the order by checking the box next to the order and clicking the Send Receipt icon below the table.
