League Events - Schedule Builder

Last Updated: April 13, 2026

The schedule builder tab on the League Events page automatically builds a schedule for you based on input of a few parameters and game dates and times.

Prerequisites

A league, season, division, and multiple teams must be setup to use the schedule builder.

Customizations

  • Resource Types can be edited on the Preferences page, Events & Resources tab, Resource Types section.

  • League Event Types can be edited on the Preferences page, League tab, League Event Types section.

Step 1

  • League Event Type: Select league event type to be applied to all games created in this schedule build. If Tournament is selected, the Tournament field will appear.

  • Tournament: Select tournament for all games created in this schedule build.

  • Schedule By: Determines how game times are created.

    • By Date requires you to manually add every game time.

    • By Weekday allows you to enter regular days and times, and then game times are created from this criteria between the start and end dates set below.

  • Dates: Start and end date for the schedule. Only displays if scheduling by weekday.

  • Time Between Games: Minimum time between games. The schedule builder will attempt to meet this criteria, but may not get it completely right.

  • Game Sequencing: Used when building schedules for multiple divisions.

    • Division Back-to-Back schedules a block of dates/times for each division.

    • Division Rotation schedules individual games for each division.

    • Randomize All Games schedules divisional games randomly.

  • Divisions: Set criteria for the number of games per team, extra games (such as a championship game), and the event color for this division’s games on the calendar.

  • Resources: All resources that could be assigned to the games and the resource rate if applicable. You will be prompted to select which resource to use for each individual game.

Step 2

If you selected By Weekday in the Schedule By field above, you will be prompted to enter the weekdays and times you want games scheduled. Otherwise, this step will be skipped.

Step 3

A table of game dates will appear on this step. You will have the opportunity to add and modify game times in this table. If you have entered more or less games than are needed to fulfill the criteria you set on Step 1, then warnings will appear with instructions for how to meet the criteria.

Step 4

Select which teams you want to include in the schedule. If you deselect a team, that team will not appear in the schedule.

Step 5

At this point, All-Star Rec Manager will create a draft schedule for your review. You have the option to change division and teams playing in each game.

  • Swap Games: The swap games feature allows you to swap the two teams playing at a certain date and time with the two teams playing at another date and time. To swap games, click the checkbox on the left-hand side of the table for the two games you want to swap. Then click the Swap Game Times icon below the table.

  • Analysis Tables: Click the Analysis Tables icon below the table to view analyses of the schedule. After viewing the table, you may opt to swap some game times around to make the counts line up the way you want them.

    • Day Analysis: Provides a count of the number of games for each team each day of the week.

    • Time Analysis: Provides a count of the number of games for each team at the available times.

    • Resource Analysis: A count of the number of games for each team at the available resources.

When you are ready to add these games to the calendar, click the Add Games button.
