Recurring Payments

Last Updated: September 28, 2026

This tutorial contains an overview of how to setup, change, and remove recurring payments.

Overview

Recurring payments allow you to automatically pay for all outstanding balances on your account that are due on or before the date of the payment. Any available credits will be used first, and then your card on file will be charged for any remaining balance.

Add a Recurring Payment

Recurring payments can be added on the Profile and Family Members pages. They must be setup by the actual person (or a family member) making the payments and cannot be setup by organization administrators.

  1. Navigate to your Profile page or the Family Members page. If on the Family Members page, click the person from your family who will be making the recurring payment.

  2. If you have not already saved your card on file, you need to do that first before you add a recurring payment. You can add a card in the Credit/Debit Cards on File section.

  3. Scroll down to the Recurring Payments section and open it.

  4. Click the Add Recurring Payment button below the recurring payments table.

  5. Card: Saved card to use for the recurring payments.

  6. Day of Month: 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, last day of month. Payments will process on this day each month.

  7. End Date: end date of the recurring payments. Once the end date has passed, the recurring payment record will automatically be deleted.

  8. Once you’ve filled in these fields, click the Save button.

  9. The recurring payment is now setup and will automatically review your outstanding balance as of the day of the payment and if necessary, make a payment on that balance.

Change a Recurring Payment

Recurring payments can be changed on the Profile and Family Members pages. Administrators can make changes to recurring payments on the Participants page.

To change a recurring payment, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Profile, Family Members, or Participants page.

  2. Open the participant’s profile and scroll down to the recurring payments section.

  3. Click the Edit icon from the Actions column on the recurring payment you want to edit.

  4. Make changes and click the Save button.

Delete a Recurring Payment

Recurring payments can be deleted on the Profile or Family Members page by the person making the gift. They can be deleted on the Participants page by an organization administrator. To delete a recurring payment, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Profile, Family Members, or Participants page.

  2. Open the contact’s profile and scroll down to the recurring payments section.

  3. Click the Delete icon from the Actions column on the recurring payment you want to delete.

Troubleshooting Recurring Payments

Periodically, a recurring payment may not process. This is most often due to the credit or debit card’s issuing bank flagging the transaction as fraud, the card on file being expired, or the amount charged exceeding the card’s transaction limits. If a recurring payment fails, All-Star Rec Manager will not attempt to process it again until the following month. If it fails, you can still make payments on your outstanding balance by navigating to your organization’s payment page.
