View & Capture Authorized Payments

When making a sale, you have the option to authorize a payment, but will also need to add tips and capture the payment at a later time. This tutorial walks through how to accomplish these tasks.


General Note

Once a transaction has been captured, you are no longer able to make modifications to the payment amount. Be sure to add any tips to the authorized amount prior to capturing it.


Automated Capture

Payments which are authorized but not manually captured will be automatically captured at the time you specify. To set the time, navigate to the Preferences page, General tab and open the Payment Processor - Square section. Here you can set the Auto Approve Time.


Viewing the List of Authorized Payments

Navigate to the Point of Sale page. From the Quick Links menu, click the Authorized Payments button. A popup will appear with a list of current authorized payments that need to be captured.


Adding Tips

To add a tip, check the box next to the record(s) you want to add a tip to and click the Add Tip icon below the table. A popup window will appear where you can enter the tip and click Save.


Capturing Payments

To capture a payment, check the box next to the payment(s) you want to capture and click the Approve Payment icon below the table.


Canceling Payments

To cancel a payment, check the box next to the payment(s) you want to cancel and click the Cancel Payment icon below the table.
